THREE INTENSIVE PIANO SESSIONS HAPPENING AT THIS UNPARALLELED HISTORIC ITALIAN VILLA
MIPFA Summer Sessions take place in the idyllic atmosphere of Villa Medici Giulini, a fusion of Art and Music, a real “Lombard Delight.” This historic estate is located in Northern Italy, near Milan, on the hills of Brianza, between Milan and Lake Como.
Villa Medici Giulini is a paradise for pianists. While taking part in any of our three piano sessions at the villa, students will live inside a time capsule, where a XVIII century vibe is still alive. This Villa owns one of the largest collections of historic keyboard instrument, which allows participants to hear the sounds great composers heard when playing and composing their works — particularly those from the Baroque and early Classical periods.
The instrument collection includes original ancient fortepianos and pianos, including square pianos, from 1760 (Hellen, Walter, Schantz, Graf, Pleyel, Bosendorfer, Erard), 1850's Blüthners to modern Shigeru Kawais concert grands. Francesco Libetta, artistic director of the MIPFA in Italy, will conduct workshops and explain how to approach performances on these instruments.
All masterclasses and recitals take place at the Villa facilities, which is also the hosting place for all participants and faculty.
Participants of the MIPFA Sessions in Villa Medici Giulini will be able to completely focus on this magical piano experience, not having to worry about housing, meals or transportation when they arrive to Milan on route to Villa Medici in (Briosco).
Tuition fee covers:
• Room and board for the duration of the program within the villa facilities (double-triple rooms).
• Three meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).
• Transportation from the Airport (Milano-Malpensa and Milano-Linate) to Villa Medici.
• Cultural trips to Milano and Lake Como.

All participants will be hosted at Villa Medici Giulini's facilities – Room and Breakfast costs are included in their tuition fee.
• In the cost of each of the rooms is included breakfast and VAT 10%
• • Each student can choose to either have a single room or a double room. Double room's tuition fees are cheaper. Know more
• Many rooms have private kitchens, and additional kitchens are available for the rooms that don’t have private kitchen
• As for lunch and dinner participants can walk to a restaurant near the villa which costs 12 euros per person, or they can buy food to cook inside, in the supermarket near the villa

Villa Medici Giulini, due to its proximity to Milan, Como, Monza and Bergamo, is an ideal location for our international piano masterclass meeting. The Villa has medieval origins and has remained intact over time. The house has had several owners including the Marquis Medici of Marignano.
For all those international students, a MIPFA Shuttle will take them from Milano's Malpensa International and Linate Airports to the Briosco, where the Villa is located.
MIPFA's coordination team will contact each of the enrolled participants to ensure they have transportation to come to the Villa from the airport.
