The Piano program at Villa Medici Giulini is divided into three different sessions. Each session features different faculty.

The length of, and tuition for each session is different, offering participants alternatives that best fit their schedules and finances. Participants wishing to participate in more than one session will be offered a special discount, depending on availability. Please visit this page to learn more.

what happens at mipfa summer sessions in villa medici

The Summer Program of the MIPFA is an intensive summer program designed with innovative concepts for artists pursuing a concert career. Participants will interact with an incredible group of international performing artists that will provide inspirational experiences for participants through exposure to a variety of valid sources of information directed toward achieving artistic freedom. Professors and participants will coexist and share unforgettable life experiences even outside of lessons and masterclasses.


In each of the sessions, all participants will receive:

Pedagogical activities

  • At least, one private lesson (60 minute) with each of the faculty members taking part in the session*
  • Daily group masterclasses where to publicly perform for the maestros and your colleagues.
  • Public lectures and discussions by the faculty members.
  • Workshops: with Ballet dancers from La Scala, Piano Tuning and more.
  • An exposure to original ancient fortepianos and pianos (including square pianos) from 1760 to 1860 (Hellen, Walter, Schantz, Graf, Pleyel, Bösendorfer, Erard)

* Participants in the first session will take part in  at least 9 private lessons.
Participants in the second session will take part in at least  7 private lessons.
Participants in the third session will take part in at least 5 private lessons.

group activities

  • Guided tour to Milano - including Teatro alla Scala and Museo Teatrale alla Scala, in the building that once hosted Casa Ricordi, with a piano owned by Liszt; Brera Academy for Fine Arts; Ambrosiana Library.
  • Guided tour to Lake Como and Belaggio Town
  • Piano recitals at the Villa's "Teatrino" with the Session's faculty members.
  • Participants Recitals the Villa's "Teatrino" (professionally recorded).

In order to apply to any of our programs, you must fill up the form in our website and provide a video in which you perform a free program that will serve as an online audition to the program.
